About Me

I am fat.

Hello.

Hey, my name is Megat Al Zhahir Daniel! I was born, and currently live in Manjung, Perak. I like to explore. When I'm free, I usually tinker around my digital audio workstation and would also sometimes play with my favourite 3D animation tool, Blender. I particularly am very interested in computers and multimedia, but gaming is also a topic that I like talking.

I do study.

When I was 7 years old, I attended primary school. It was quite competitive there, and I would stuck in the third class for 3 years. Prior to that, I was placed at the fifth class for my first year, and first class for the second year. UPSR was the big test that I took at my last year on that school, when I was 12 years old. If you're searching for me in the top photo, I am next to the right-most person on the third row from below.

I was in dilemma for a while. I wanted to continue studying at the same school, but my parents couldn't send me to school as my time was overlapping their work hours. I was finally sent to my second school. This school is located quite far from the buzzing city that I grew up in. (15 Minutes from both cities) and I was able to meet people from all kinds of backgrounds. I personally felt that this school actually taught me about the life in rural area in my place. In my third year, or 16 years old, I took my second big exams in my schooling history. It was PT3. Time flew pretty fast and I got my results. I felt rather unmotivated after that and felt that I could not continue on the science stream, but I got in the science class easily, anyway.

I did apply for MRSM. But I had never felt confident that I was noticeable in this sea of humans. I was grateful that I was able to study for my SPM here. The atmosphere was new. It was different from both school I went. It wasn't like the rural school where people jokes around and couldn't care more about their study. It wasn't like the city school that I attended, either. It had no interracial competition. It had been years since I met my friend from my primary school. The MRSM wasn't near too, it was located at the edge of not just Perak, but also Malaysia. I did plan to get back to my old school anyway that year, and I felt a little reluctant to leave the comfort of my home behind, but my mother said that I should take this opportunity and strive further. Anyways, I finally went here. The people here was very nice, and the atmosphere was also good.

A new chapter in my life is rising. I got pretty low, (In my standard) for SPM. I was again, disappointed in life and felt that I have no future. Sure, my friend do say that my results was quite okay, and not that bad, but I refuse to believe it. After a few days, I was able to move on and think about the future. I applied a lot of MARA institutes and I do get all that I apply, but many of the institution is private institution. This means that I have to pay for it with a high cost. This caused a dilemma in me. A part of me wanted to go study at these MARA institutions, but another part of me wanted me to stay and wait for other offers. I waited and was offered for UTM. This added more pain to the injury. I was again unable to make a decision. At last, I waited for the matriculation offers to come out and I was offered to go to the Perak college. I thought thoroughly and finally come to a conclusion. Matriculation it is.

Matriculation was a fun place to be in, I socialized a lot while I was in matriculation. However, two subjects still haunt me to matriculation: chemistry and mathematics. I am especially not good at calculus and advanced trigonometry, as well as organic chemistry. Organic chemistry in particular involved too many reactions that I can grasp, and as such I was not able to master them. My GPA in matriculation is disappointing and I myself felt remorse for not studying harder. I tried my best in the second semester and was determined to score as best as I could in the finals, before the COVID-19 pandemic hit and killed all of that. During the initial phases of the pandemic, I felt very unmotivated to continue further since it felt really abrupt. The Movement Control Order imposed by the government was initiated 2 weeks before our finals were supposed to be scheduled, but since the cases were going up drastically, we cannot really do anything at the time. In the end, we graduated without having our finals.

This time, I had determined which University that I wanted to go. I initially wanted to avoid the east coast as possible because I do not want to have to adapt to the different weekend schedules that the east coast states practice. I picked the courses that I thought were not offered in the east coast, and that included a particular course for UiTM. I hadn't realized that my choice at the time would backfire back at me. Nonetheless, UPU results day came, and I looked at the results. I honestly was not expecting to be enrolling into UiTM and at an east coast campus at that. I figured that I couldn't really change anything at the time, and I decided to just accept the decision. To Kuala Terengganu I am.

I {4C4F5645} computers.

As a kid, I was mesmerized by technology and computers. I was optimistic about them. My first computer was an old Dell (I believe it was a Dell Optiplex machine), and it was very slow, that most of the times, I had to push the reset button to restart the computer because of the constant freezes. During that time, I didn't really have internet, so I usually use my computer to explore all the things on the computer. I was very interested in software and design. I also played many flash games during this time.

After I entered primary school, my dell wasn't that good anymore, and my father decided to use it on other places. This was the last time I used my old computer, and at the time, there was already another computer. I use that instead, but not very often like my Dell. To play games, I usually use my father's laptop. This was my life, until my mother decided to buy a laptop. My mother's laptop was the first laptop in my home to have a dual core processor. It was also the first to run a next version of Windows at that time too, which is Windows Vista. Me and my sisters will play The Sims 2 on the laptop often. This results in the laptop overheating, rendering it unusable. It was fun though playing The Sims 2 on the laptop.

After I entered boarding school after UPSR, I was no longer really connected to any computers except my school's lab. During my first year, I would occassionally use the lab to find useful information and any news about tech. During this time, I usually find information regarding technology through YouTube. During this time, I also would help people setting up computers or PA systems. I also first used Photoshop during this time, in a course that was organized by the school. However, I had already known about the product, and saw my sister use it. After the course, I decided to throw away other tools I've been using and replaced them with Adobe Suites. (More on this later)

During my second year, a senior of mine suggested me to enter the IT Prefects. I was not convinced at the time, but after a lot of people came to me, suggesting the same idea, I decided to apply for it. I had my first interview (which was VERY simple), and was admitted into the organization. I was appointed as the Maintenance Committee member and I started learning more. During my days being the prefect, I was able to attend two courses that was organized by the organization's chairman, which was a computer building course and network cabling and installing course. I learned a ton by the end of these courses and was grateful that I was able to attend these courses.

I multimedia a bit.

I like doing art stuff. I like using Adobe Premiere Pro to edit and make a video. I was first introduced to Photoshop a long time ago (see above), and never stopped using it since. Before using Premiere Pro, I used Windows Movie Maker because it was the only tool I can easily find on the computer. I first used Premiere Pro a few years after using Movie Maker. During that time, I already had made music. I first made music when I was on the second year of my Lower Secondary School. I made beats and music using an app called 'Caustic 3'. I don't really use it anymore, since I mainly use desktop software now.
